Great atmosphere and good food. The interior is ornate with all kinds of things mainly from the Thai culture, looks like the Thai version of Bubba Gump shrimp company. Parking is a little difficult nearby.

Friendly staff. I have been here couple of times and I always ordered the delicious crab fried rice. They got good beers on tap too.

Pretty typical Thai dishes at reasonable prices, prompt and friendly service, very large portion for the noodles! Could definitely just order one to share.

Stopped by for dinner with friends. The service is good, wait-staff attentive... though it can take a little longer when the place is packed. Though, that's understandable. The dishes are flavorful and not too salty. We ordered the salted wings which, IMO, is wings & drums chopped in half (so, pieces are smaller), seasoned with salt & pepper, then deep fried. It's served with a sweet chili sauce. Main course were eggplant basil with calamari, a penang curry chicken, pad siu with prawn and pad thai with beef. Thai ice tea is not verily sweet. The place can get a little noisy, but a very positive atmosphere overall. Personally, I like the movie poster plastered walls and the art theme used throughout, including menu. Overall, Saap Ver is one of the better Thai restaurants I've been to in the bay area. I'll definitely go back with more friends!

The papaya salad here is really quite good. Probably the best I've had in SF so far. The atmosphere is like a typical lively bar/restaurant. The decor is really quite fun. It's all antique Thai movie posters

I think they have very nice American Thai foods, and the atmosphere is very lively. Good place to hang out with friends. If you visit the place for the first time, you might not find easily where’s the restaurant’s entrance since they have small signage.

I love isaan food and the food is good and spicy here. But the service can be unbearably slow. Even just for take-out.

Been here a few times and loved it until this most recent visit. We got the Saap Ver Fried Rice, tasty but small portion. DO NOT ORDER the Nam Prik Set, literally a plate of veggies and one sausage for $25. I have eaten these at other places and expected to see some tasty Thai vegetables. Nope, it was a plate of cabbage, broccoli, carrot, green beans, and lettuce. We have to order an extra dish of Grilled Pork Shoulder to finish up the veggies. The pork shoulder is tender but over salted.

I absolutely love their pad sew ew. I didnt realize how busy this place got during lunch time. It's very loud from people talking and they have music playing as well. Service could be a little more attentive, but food is delicious!

Food doesn’t taste good as Thai food should be. The servers especially the lady server wasn’t so accommodating and rude. This place is not recommendable at all!

Great food and nice service! Best thing about this thai place is it offers a great variety of authentic Thai dishes which you cannot get from most of Thai restaurant. Highly recommend if you some times are in the mood for good Thai restaurant in a good environment paying good amount of $$. 😹

Came here on a Wednesday. The food was good and spicy, the beer selection was solid and the service was outstanding. The food was not your generic Americanised Thai restaurant. Lots of interesting flavors with a spicy kick. We will back.

One of our favorite Thai Restaurants here in the city. Highly recommend. The food is very authentic and every dish we have tried is a winner (and we have tried quite a few). The crispy rice dishes are exceptional.

Saap Ver was disappointing on service and food. We waited twenty minutes for our rolls and salad while there were servers on the floor talking with each other. We never received our pad thai dish. The service was immature and unprofessional--I would say rude. I expect better food execution and service from any restaurant. I cannot recommend Saap Ver.

We stumbled on this place while on holiday in SF, we just stopped to use the toilets and have a coke, but when we looked at the did it looked really good so we decided to eat there. I had the Thai chili beef, we also had a vegetarian rice dish and the Thai sausage fried rice, I can whole heartedly recommend this place, the food is amazing.

Came here a little while ago with some friends for dinner. + Weird ambience and decor in here, but whatever, I dig it. + Plenty of seating although it does look like they get a wait sometimes+ Huge portions+ Pad Thai Prawn - well cooked, good flavors, they give you enough prawns. - Rad Nah Pork - did not enjoy this very much. But my friend did; we wound up trading our dishes with each other. - Yellow Curry Chicken - definitely do not like the bowl/plate they serve it in. Not the idea style and makes it more difficult to eat. Chicken is overcooked. She also asked for Tofu substitute and they still gave her chicken. I may come back here. Intrigued with their fried rice dishes nd I'm always down for some Pad Thai.

Service was terrible. We waited 20 minutes to order, then another hour to receive our food after we ordered. Half of our table received food 20 minutes before the other half. The food was flavorful and OK, but I will not be returning.

First time eating here. I ordered kapow chicken with brown rice. Delicious ground chicken and the rice is done perfectly. Salad dressing was delicious. The interior of the place has a cool, rustic feel. They have a bar and a big screen TV for sports. But chairs and booths are a little uncomfortable to sit in. Service was fine.

I really love Thai food and I have been to many Thai restaurants in the US, in Thailand and other places around the world. Saap Ver has a cool ambience and a great menu with some wonderful dishes you won't find at generic Thai restaurants and are well worth trying. As for the food, it is authentic flavors of Thailand and one of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. I will warn you that spicyness level is rated for Thai folks and even a "medium" on some dishes has some fire. Overall, I highly recommend Saap Ver!

We was last customers who took food to go. And at home when we open the food and try - it was disgusting! In duck salad we didn't found duck, just small fried pisces, dry and fired. And soup was tooooo spicy. So, everything went to garbage. We was hungry, angry and we lost $~50-60. HURTLE NOT RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE FOR ANYONE!!!!! BE CAREFUL!!!!

"Country style" Thai food or "Esan" food. You can get less common dishes here. Good drinking and chill spot. Deducting 1 star because I feel it is on the expensive side of things.

The worst service I have ever received. They said the wait was gonna be 10-15mins, we waited for more than half an hr, and when we asked if we could take out instead. They said takeout will be 1hr wait (thats rediculous). We finally got seated, but waited for another 25-30mins to even have water, then another 20mins to get our orders down. When we asked to get water or order, we kept being told they would find our waiter...

The atmosphere: Cute little place in Soma with a vintage movie theme going on. They also just re-modeled and it looks great inside. Doesn't feel that cramped inside either. The food: It's better for dinner than it is for lunch (portions not as worth for the price). I recommend the noodles or the curry. Overall, love the flavors and it's not that spicy at the medium level. I think it has gotten a little pricey and the quality has gone down slightly. The service: Just ok, not terrible but I think they forget to check up on you if you don't get a drink. The owner always seems to be mulling around or sitting at the bar watching TV. Seems kinda weird to be doing that on a busy night.

This place is just down the street from my sister place in SF. She raves how good is it. So we give it a try. I gave it a thumb up!! Foods tastes delicious and very authentic. Except very spicy !! So if you can't handle spicy let the server know. The servers were very friendly. All and all I will be back when I visit SF again.

Came here with some friends on a Monday night with a group of 4! We were seated right away and the place wasn’t very packed. Food: I got the rice salad and the hot and sour beef soup. I found that the portion size for the beef soup was quite small and the beef was really tender and melted in my mouth but the soup was a little too sour for me and I couldn’t finish. The rice salad was solid but also a bit too sour for me as well but it had a good crunch! I also tried a little bit of my friend’s curry and it had an extremely intense savory tangy flavor. 3/5 Service: We were checked in on relatively often and the water was refilled often but this is a fairly casual dining place. 4/5 Ambiance: A really cute vibe with lots of posters and a dim lighting for a little bit more of a intimate vibe while still being a casual place. 4/5Overall, a nice cute place for Thai but I wasn’t super impressed with the food itself.

The food here is SO GOOD! Thai food is by far my favourite cuisine and I've been looking in San Francisco for months for a Thai restaurant that I could frequent and today's my lucky day. Naked prawn - spicy and refreshingCrispy pork Stir Fry - super flavourful (could do with more bell peppers)Green curry pork - creamy, smooth curry and pork that was cooked perfectly and not dry at all.

Great Thai (yellow curry), always busy, generally on the spicy side so ask for mild unless you love it hot!

Really good food, but rather pricy for the amount you get. I have been here several times.A friend from Thailand brought me here for the first time, saying that the food is as authentic as you will get in San Francisco from a restaurant.
